There can be little worse than heading out for a day's boating only to find someone has stolen your outboard motor, leaving you to deal with the loss, painful insurance issues, the costly excess or replacement of the engine and a ruined weekend. Equally important is the ability for your locking mechanism to ward off seawater corrosion, causing frequent replacement of rusted conventional motor locks manufactured of softer metal “cocktails”.
OML Ltd has been designing outboard motor locks since 1992. We use modern, highly skilled British manufacturers for our metalwork and select components assembled by design engineers and fitters to maintain tight quality control.
We have made locks for Honda Europe, Yamaha Europe, Suzuki UK & Tohatsu Netherlands. Ours locks are made of high grade (nickel/chrome marine 316) stainless steel, incorporating marine friendly IFAM or ALKO lock mechanisms that perform well in a saltwater, marine environment, resulting in superior product longevity.
Few, if any, other manufacturers offer locks of this standard, indeed many products on the market will fail after only a short time in a marine environment.
